Job Title: Early Intervention Developmental Assessor
Pay Rate: $14.75 per hour (Part Time (20 hours per week)
Since 1987, Drew Child Development Corporation (Drew CDC), a private, nonprofit organization located in South Central Los Angeles, has been dedicated to the education and well-being of at-risk children in the metropolitan Los Angeles area.
Our mission is to prepare the children of Watts-Willowbrook, Compton and South Los Angeles to succeed and thereby strengthen our community’s future. We accomplish this through our Child Welfare, Early Child Education, Mental Health and Child Care Subsidy programs.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Developmental Assessor conducts developmental evaluations on infants/toddlers entering the Early Intervention Program; conducts re-evaluation (semi-annual/annual) assessments; participates in the day-to-day activities of the classroom; assists the Program Coordinator as needed; assists center-based staff in performing particular Early Intervention activities; document all work via typed evaluation reports, progress notes in client charts, and maintain any additional records as needed.
The ideal candidate must have (1) a Bachelor degree in Child Development/Special Education, Social Work, or other related fields; (2) at least 3 years’ experience in working with infants/toddlers; (3) demonstrated time management skills and ability to complete various tasks independently; (4) computer literacy and professional demeanor; (4) must possess or have enough units to qualify for a California Assistant Teacher/Teacher permit; and (5) certification in First Aid and Infant/Child/Adult CPR.
