A Message from Mike Jackson, Ph.D., President and CEO of Drew Child Development Corporation
“As we reflect on the extraordinary achievemnts of our honorees and celebrate our community’s successes, we must remember there’s more work to be done to propel our children toward successful futures. Our village is only as strong as each of its members, and I hope you will continue to contribute to our ongoing effort to strengthen our community and help our children and families thrive.”
Our 3rd Annual, “It Takes a Village” Recognition event was a huge success, thanks to all those who supported our efforts, including USC, partner and donor groups, our employees, all who attended the event, and of course our children. The event started with our ‘meet and greet’ and silent auction. The artwork was created by children in our local community, with the assistance of P.Q. Brown. We are grateful to all those who came, enjoyed the evening, participated in our silent auction and continue to support our efforts through donations.
The Award Ceremony took place afterward, where we were able to recognize the efforts of eight individuals who have proven themselves to be pillars in our communities. To learn more about these honorees, you can see our Community Spotlight page. During the award ceremony, we also had a special presentation, “The Torch” by The Liquid Project, along with a video for one honoree, Karen Bass, who could not be present on that day. The entire night went by smoothly, and many were able to show their support for our most valuable resource, our children. Be sure to keep following Drew CDC to see any new events listed on our website, and be sure to join us next year for our 4th Annual recognition event.
