Building Stronger Futures: Drew CDC’s Bridge Program and How You Can Help

Education

Drew CDC is dedicated to creating safe and nurturing communities in Watts-Willowbrook, Compton, and South Los Angeles by providing Trauma-Informed Care training to local professionals and Trauma-Informed Care training and services to the underserved and culturally diverse families in our community. Drew CDC’s Bridge Program is designed to provide essential support, ensuring that individuals and families in need receive the resources necessary to transition toward a brighter future. Through targeted assistance, mentorship, and community-driven initiatives, the Bridge Program empowers people to regain stability and thrive.

How the Bridge Program Works

Since 2018, Drew CDC has led and coordinated the implementation of Trauma-Informed Care training throughout Los Angeles County through the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for Foster Children. Together with our partner organizations, the Bridge Program has empowered over 5,000 childcare providers to meet the needs and support the development of children with histories of trauma. These efforts ensure that providers are equipped to offer care that supports healing and stability, helping to prevent traumatization and instead promote consistent, nurturing environments for both children and resource families. The program also helps providers learn how to meet the needs of foster children using a trauma-informed approach and works hard to find funding so families may get free or low-cost child care.

Trauma-informed care training is available to providers so they can better understand:

  • How babies and children develop
  • How to respond to trauma, anxiety, stress, and other challenges in childcare settings

Why Your Support Matters

Drew CDC is proud to support children and their families to promote safe, nurturing, and stable childcare placement. This stability supports healthy development and healing for children in the foster care system. The success of Drew CDC’s Bridge Program depends on the generosity of donors and community members who believe in the power of transformation. Every dollar donated helps provide essential services, offering struggling families a pathway to security and success.

By donating, you can:

  • Help families overcome immediate financial crises.
  • Support job training and mentorship programs that lead to employment opportunities.
  • Expand access to trauma-informed care, ensuring emotional well-being for those in need.
  • Strengthen community networks that create long-term stability.
