About This Service
Drew CDC operates its Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs in each of our six ECE centers located throughout South Los Angeles. These programs help ensure that each year as many as 384 kids who might not otherwise be able to go to preschool may play and learn at our facilities. Early education is crucial because it sets kids up to do well throughout the rest of their years in school.
Throughout our programs, we believe that parents are a child’s most important teachers. Therefore, our educational programs provide support for parents, as well as for children. Drew CDC focuses on children’s growth and development by providing nutritional meals centered around fresh fruit and vegetables, scratch-cooked foods, and baked goods. We form a team with each family so we may all learn from each other to help each child grow up to their potential.
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
Public Notice – Request for Proposal (RFP) (1 Year plus additional 4 years optional)
Request for proposals will be received by Drew Child Development Corporation at 1411 W. 190th Street Suite #400, Gardena, CA until 5:00 pm on October 25, 2024, for meals for service in Child Care Center(s) ranging from ages 18 months-5 years old.
Provide approximately 384 Breakfast, Lunches, and Snacks – 5 days a week to 6 center locations. All meals of each type must meet the standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture for Child and Adult Care Food Program meals of that type, including whole grains and scratch-cooked baked items, along with organic or local produce are required and hormone free dairy products. Fruits and vegetables must be fresh, not canned. No packaging or convenient food for snacks or canned fruits or fruit juices that may contain artificial preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial transfat and no fried foods. The proposal must include a separate price for disposable serve-ware, plates/bowls, cups, napkins and utensils.
The Contract will be awarded to the responsible vendor whose proposal is responsive and is most advantageous to the Drew Child Development Corporation, price, and other factors considered and outlined in this request.

Center Base Group Instruction
Our Center Base group instruction for children 18 months to 3 years of age teaches language, social skills, and problem-solving skills. It meets for three hours, three times per week with options for morning or afternoon sessions.
Our teachers use a creative curriculum with language-enriched instruction, and all Drew CDC teachers are trained in infant and toddler development. We also create STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) lesson plans which utilize both our indoor and outdoor settings for fun, hands-on activities.
For those children with special needs, ages 18 months to 3 years of age, we have Early Intervention services at our centers as well. These specialized programs can help kids with a wide variety of developmental challenges in coordination with South Central Los Angeles Regional Center (SCLARC) and other resources. The early childhood program also provides support services and education for the child’s whole family.
All our child development support services are designed to be inclusive and culturally sensitive, so all families feel welcome from day one.
